Antioch Park Engagement | Lindsay + Nathan
When Lindsay first contacted me, she asked if I would be willing to come to their house before the session to take some photos with her cat. Ummmm, yes? Is that even a question? Whenever I get to photograph animals (specifically cats), my life is complete. I’ve photographed so many dogs, but I have never had a client want to take photos with their cat. I loved it so much.
After I made a stop at their house, we went to Antioch Park. This park is extremely significant in their relationship. It’s where they had their first date and where he proposed. Even though Antioch Park is close to my neck of the woods, I have never had a session there. I don’t understand why. It’s such a beautiful park, so I’ll definitely be recommending it to my future clients.
At the park, we were able to experience an incredible sunset. We seriously haven’t had that nice of a sunset in weeks. After getting some incredible sunset pictures, we headed over to the swing set. It was so fun watching them swing, laugh, and have a great time. I was cracking up behind the camera as much as they were while swinging.
This session was perfect. Nathan and Lindsay are perfect. It was a perfect first session since getting back in town! Thank you so much Nathan and Lindsay for letting me hang out with you and take some awesome engagement pictures!
How did he propose?
“He said he wanted to play in the snow we had the night before so he took me to Antioch Park (where we went on our first date). After walking around freezing in the snow for awhile (he took my gloves at one point claiming he didn’t want them to get wet from the snow…but my hands were freezing!), he stopped near the pond and told me he had 2 favorite things about that park, it was where we went on our first date and it was where he was asking me to be his wife. And he got down on one knee and proposed!”
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
“Ever since I met him, I can’t imagine my life without him. He makes me laugh more than anyone I’ve ever known and we always have so much fun doing everything (and nothing) together.”
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
“She accepts me for everything that I am and has all of the qualities that are vital to a happy relationship. She’s my favorite.”
What’s your favorite part of wedding planning?
“Working together to make the day as special and unique to our relationship as possible.”
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
“Sharing the moment with both of our families and friends. There will be several people there that we don’t get to see often and it will be great to kick off our marriage celebrating with those who have always meant so much to us.”
I love them all! So happy for our adult children and wish them all the happiness this life can bring. So blessed and grateful they found each other.
