Jessica and Lucas had a gorgeous Belvoir Winery Wedding in Liberty, Missouri on Saturday! Although I wasn’t personally able photograph this wedding, my associate team did amazing!
Jessica was one of those brides who I immediately bonded with because of our mutual love for cats and Taylor Swift. She was a referral from one of my favorite 2018 couples, so I knew their wedding was going to be gorgeous and fun! Unfortunately COVID had other plans. Their May wedding turned into August and the only day that worked for their other vendors didn’t work for me. I couldn’t imagine giving up this wedding, so I hired one of my best friends to shoot it for me! I knew she would do an amazing job and understand my control-freak nature.
To give you a little background, I hired one of my best friend’s Kat to associate shoot. I have known Kat for 5 years or so and she was even in my wedding. If I trust someone enough to give a toast at my wedding, I must trust them enough to handle my clients. Since Kat mainly does boudoir these days, she was very happy to help out and it was such a relief to have someone I trust with my life there. I also hired one of my favorite second shooters to help out, so I knew they were in good hands! I prefer to not have to contract out any weddings, but if I ever need to again, I know I have a wonderful team who will help make the day amazing!
Letting go of a wedding is so incredibly hard! I put so much into my relationship with Jessica and Lucas, and I hated the thought of not being able to celebrate with them. Even though I wasn’t able to shoot the wedding, I still worked closely with them throughout the process and am editing all their images. Thankfully my associate photographers didn’t mind my constant texts making sure every part of this day was perfect…well I’d like to think they didn’t mind it. I just had to be sure the day was exactly as Jessica imagined!
Even though I missed out on most of the day, I had to stop by at the very end to say hi and grab some of Katie’s Catering’s amazing mac and cheese. Seriously, hire her. Her food is the best!
In my quick conversation with Jessica and Lucas, they radiated with excitement as they were chatting with their friends and family. Jessica was drop dead gorgeous in her gown and Lucas looked pretty great as well.
Looking through these images, it is clear how perfect these two are for each other. I could tell during their engagement session and even more so during their wedding day. From their emotional first look to their fun on the dance floor, it seemed to be an incredible day! I’m so glad I was still able to be part of the experience with you two!
Thank you so much for having me and I’m glad you finally were able to have your perfect day! Here’s your full preview! More to come shortly!
