Leah and Kirk had an absolutely beautiful Berry Acres fall wedding day on Saturday. If you’ve followed me, you know I absolutely love Berry Acres Wedding and Event Venue in Odessa, Missouri. The people are incredible to work with and the property is gorgeous.
This was the fourth time I had been out to Berry Acres to shoot and I was absolutely ecstatic when Leah booked me more than a year and a half ago! I was also super excited because Leah was a referral from two of my past couples who I loved, so I knew this day would be a blast.
Leading up to the wedding, the weather is always a concern. I try to avoid even looking at the forecast until a couple days before because we live in the midwest. We can expect it to change 1000 times between now and two weeks from now. I was pleasantly surprised when the forecast said 60 degrees and sunny. We couldn’t have asked for a better day for their outside ceremony.
The entire wedding day went exactly as planned. I love how Berry Acres helps make sure the timeline goes as we schedule it and we’re without hiccups along the road. Angela, Jazmyn, and Alan sure know how to coordinate a day!
My favorite part about Berry Acres has to be the epic view of the sunset. As a wedding photographer who specializes in sunsets, it makes me extremely happy when Alan came driving along in his school bus turned party bus to drive us to the hill across the street. Despite having no clouds to give the sky extra color, we were still able to capture the gorgeous sun as it dipped below the horizon.
At one point, Alan suggested climbing on to the roof. I believe he was partially joking, but I jumped at the opportunity to get a higher vantage point. I’m not a fan of heights, but I’m always willing to do whatever it takes to get the shot. My legs may have been shaking, but I did it! After we took a few images, I scooted butt-down to the bottom of the roof. Apparently this was a funny sight to those around. I was just glad to be back on solid ground….but we got the shot and that’s all that mattered!
After our amazing sunset session, the party began. At this point, all the kids hit the dance floor and we had a blast.
To Leah and Kirk, thank you so much for trusting us to capture your gorgeous day at Berry Acres. I loved watching you two go with the flow and enjoy your day so much! You are perfect together and I’m so honored to have had the chance to capture your love! Hope you’re having a great time in Hawaii!!!

I chose Berry Acres because they are great! They are very helpful and know what they are doing. The property is beautiful and exactly what I was looking for. The space is large enough where our guests don’t have to sit on top of each other. Kirk also has a strange schedule so the convenience of everything being at one place was very helpful
