Amanda and Michael had such a beautiful El Torreon wedding in Kansas City!
When Amanda first hired me, she described her wedding as the most Kansas City wedding ever, and they sure did deliver. They served KC Joe's for dinner, KC Wolf made an appearance, detail photos included Super Bowl and World Series rings (more about this later) and we explored the property surrounding El Torreon in the heart of Kansas City!
Let me start by saying, Amanda is one of the sweetest brides I have ever met. She was totally down for taking all the portraits and even texted me on her wedding night after we left to tell me how amazing the day was. I never get texts from brides on their wedding night, so this was special to me.
Michael, in typical groom fashion, wasn't huge into pictures, but he didn't complain once. He catered to his bride's every picture wish with a smile on his face.
One of my favorite details had to be the inclusion of Super Bowl and World Series rings. Amanda's grandpa is actually a big deal in Kansas City. He works as a groundskeeper for the stadiums and has received victory rings. Amanda wanted to include these as her something old and borrowed, and I'm so glad she did.
The whole wedding was super laid back and chill. Hair and makeup took a little longer than expected, making us start the first look about an hour late. These two, however, went with the flow and quickly adjusted plans. Instead of hitting up Liberty Memorial, we took all the portraits around the property. Even though we weren't able to get the iconic Kansas City skyline, we had a wonderful alleyway to play around in. We still got pretty epic portraits despite not leaving the property!
The only time we left the property was during sunset. It's occasionally hard to get an epic view of the sky in downtown Kansas City, so we trekked up the nearest hill and were able to see some pretty amazing colors.
Thank you Amanda and Michael for allowing me to be part of your incredible El Torreon wedding in downtown Kansas City. Here's your preview! More to come shortly!

Very laid back, classic, candle light, little 40/50 feel with the classic and candle light

The history! It was huge and beautiful! It had everything we were looking for!
What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?
Don't let people tell you it's all a waste of money. That it will all be over within 12 hours and all you did was spend all this money. The memories are what count, the stories, the feelings, the love is what matters. In the end LOVE wins.
