This blog post has the potential to be incredibly long because I'm talking about one of my favorite humans, but I'm tired after a busy weekend and running out of steam this Monday, so I'll try to keep it short and sweet. This is the engagement session of Jenny, my very own intern. I first met Jenny in January at a bridal show. She introduced herself to be by saying she follows me on Instagram. We bonded a few months later when she really started getting involved in the photography industry. She had a strong desire to become a wedding photographer, so I let her follow me around at a few weddings. She worked so well that it wasn't long before she called herself my intern and I was like sure, why not. I'm totally at the stage in my business where I can handle an intern...well she turned out to be a wonderful addition to my team and I'm so glad to have met her.
She also happened to be getting married, so we bonded over wedding planning craziness. A few bribes later, she allowed me to be her wedding photographer. Just kidding...about the bribe part...kind of....I just really wanted to be her photographer...don't judge me. In all seriousness, we bonded instantly and it felt natural to also photograph her wedding in addition to working with her as my intern.
Thank you Jenny for tolerating me, taking awesome pictures, and allowing me to photograph your wonderful wedding in June!
Oh and thank you Enchanted Acres Wedding Venue for allowing us to use your space to take these incredible images. If you're looking for a venue, seriously, check them out.
Also, Chance, her fiancé was there, he's cool too. I figured I should at least mention him since he is kinda important in this whole getting married thing they're about to do.
How did he propose?
I picked Chance up at the airport after studying abroad in Italy for a month. We went to one of our favorite fast food places, Steak and Shake. We always play hangman on the back of the paper placemats while we wait for our food. The last hangman puzzle was “will you marry me?” and he pulled out a ring from Italy! It was the best surprise ever.
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
Chance sees the best in everybody. He’s never quick to judge and always has an open-mind. He has made me a better person because of that.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
She has a kind soul. She cares so much about other people, especially her family and her students.
What's your favorite part of wedding planning?
Chance: Being done with it and doing the actual wedding!
Jenny: Shenanigans with the bridal party. They make the planning so much less stressful. I haven’t done it yet, but I know I’ll love writing my vows.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
Chance: The first dance.
Jenny: Seeing all of my family and friends to celebrate our marriage! Also marrying my best friend, duh.
