It’s not too often I get the chance to work with a couple after their wedding, but I was super excited when Melissa contacted me to get all dressed up again. These two weren’t able to get all the images they wanted on their wedding day, so they decided to get their vendors on board to create even more beautiful images.

I love after-wedding shoots because the entire session is focused on the couple. On a wedding day, there are so many guests to entertain and other festivities that occasionally there isn’t much extra time for the bride and groom to spend time together.

Not only did we get to capture some gorgeous bride and groom portraits, but we were given a stunning sunset. These two couldn’t get sunset photos on their wedding day, so I’m sure it was special to be blessed with amazing colors in the sky.

How did he propose?

We went to Belize to get Melissa scuba certified. Brandon organized a beach dinner and did it out on a pier. It was soooo romantic.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

He is THE most genuine person I have EVER met. Sincerely the kindest heart, will always be there for me no matter what. He’s the best dad to Logan and an AMAZING step-dad to my kids.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

“You are by far the strongest person I know, have weathered some touch situations and come out the other side as kind and spirited as ever.”

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

It was fun picking out the location and dreaming about the photos (the barn, the pond and boat pictures, chase), and imaging an intimate wedding with just our 3 kids up there
