I think I have a new favorite venue! I absolutely loved everything about Flander Hall in Excelsior Springs. I spent most of the time photographing details in this hidden room upstairs. It had a rustic elegance to it that I absolutely loved. This venue definitely suited Courtney and Blake’s style.

Anyway, I mentioned in my last post about my crazy busy weekend last weekend. I had three weddings, but they were all so beautiful and relaxing. Courtney and Blake were the second wedding of the weekend and the whole day was picture perfect.

Their chemistry is obvious. They’re high school sweethearts and both pursuing a career in the medical field. Every single picture looks like it could be framed. I mean, look at how amazing they look together! They’re seriously the cutest and I had the best time photographing them.

During portraits, we explored downtown Excelsior Springs, which is phenomenal. I loved all the pretty walls, which allowed for some great backgrounds. My favorite part was just watching these two interact. They didn’t need many cues. Everything they did looked adorable.

Typically I preview around 100 images in the blog post. Well these guys get 161! Too many amazing details. Too many emotions. Too many gorgeous poses. I needed to post them all! Hope you enjoy! Thanks Courtney and Blake for letting me be part of your amazing day at Flander Hall.

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding.

I wanted to create a very simple, natural and elegant feel to the wedding.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).

We were looking for a venue that was pretty close to home and had some unique charm. Flander Hall was the perfect space that could accommodate our guest list and give off the charm and natural feel we were wanting.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Don’t sweat the little stuff. There is a lot that goes into planning a wedding and it is easy to get caught up on small things but it the end it only matters that the bride and groom are happy.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

We liked picking out all the outfits. We also liked searching for a venue and imagining our big day.
