Foundry 324 Wedding | Brandice + Dustin

Brandice and Dustin had a beautiful Foundry 324 wedding in Sedalia along with portraits and ceremony in Warrensburg.

I like to consider myself a robot. Yes, I enjoy the emotions of weddings, but I’ll never be the photographer who says I cry at every wedding. There were a few moments at their day that showed me I am also human.

When Brandice first put on her dress, all her bridesmaids were watching the moment unfold. Her mother and mother-in-law helped her into the dress and then left the room for a moment. When they returned, she had her veil on and they truly saw her as a bride. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

When Dustin walked down the aisle, he stopped to hug his grandparents. Immediately after hugging his grandpa, he broke into tears. Dustin later told me that his grandpa doesn’t always recognize the moments, so it was extra special he was able to understand all that was happening.

When Dustin was reading his vows, he took a few minutes to also present vows to Brandice’s two children. I definitely started tearing up.

When Dustin’s best man was giving his speech, he told Dustin to remove step from his title of step-dad. That was a special moment to witness.

I didn’t include all of these in the preview because I feel like some are too personal for a public post, but I wanted to make note of all the emotional moments that really made their day so special.

Share the inspiration and atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding:

We wanted to create a comfortable, kid friendly atmosphere that allowed for lots of laughter and fun. Yet we wanted to maintain a classic and elegant look with lots of flowers and definitely not like a big family reunion.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s):

We wanted a place that had a beautiful aesthetic and that we hadn’t seen used before. We fell in love with the modern mixed with vintage style of The Foundry. It was a perfect fit for our personalities.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Dustin: Don’t do it with kids, you end up with biscuits and jelly to eat for dinner and the DJ playing Let It Go. I’m just kidding, although it’s difficult to find the time to be able to plan while also being attentive to the family. Start as early as possible and get the big stuff done first. Don’t sweat the small stuff cause at the end of the day, you get to be with your partner.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Brandice: The whole process has been a lot of fun to plan with Dustin. It helps that I’m not too picky and he knew exactly what he wanted. We really just had fun picking out our favorite and most meaningful details.
