It was an absolutely freezing wedding day for Sarah and DJ, but you definitely can’t tell from the shots. They were so full of love and happiness throughout the entire day.
The day started at the Foundry Event Center in Topeka. It’s a relatively new venue, but it gave us an awesome backdrop for dancing. I absolutely love twinkly lights and this venue has tons!
We followed up getting ready with a beautiful ceremony at a nearby church. It was such an amazing experience watching DJ get emotional as he saw Sarah walk down the aisle.
After the ceremony, they had a bubble exit (which I believe is my new favorite thing). The bubbles fell so beautifully and you could see the excitement in both of their faces.
We then found an amazing frozen waterfall at Washburn University (where Sarah graduated), which gave us a beautiful backdrop for formal photos. We only had about 15 minutes outside because it was beyond freezing, but we made it count. I’m really happy with what we got despite the freezing weather. Sarah looked absolutely gorgeous in her long sleeves and you definitely couldn’t tell she was beyond frozen.
When we got back to the Foundry Event Center, I was shocked to see something I had never seen before at a wedding – they were playing the Chiefs game on a projector. Haha! It was amazing watching all their guests scream and jump out of their seats at the excitement of the game. Unfortunately we lost, but it was still a hilarious site to see. On a related note, the officiant actually stopped the ceremony to ask what the score was. It was amazing!
We concluded their beautiful day with a night full of dancing and a sparkler exit.
Thank you so much Sarah and DJ for having me be part of your incredible wedding at the Foundry Event Center in Topeka.
