Madison and Blake had an absolutely incredible Hilton President Hotel Wedding on Saturday! Every part of the day was so carefully thought out, from the decor to the coordination of the bridesmaid’s dresses.
I first met Madison about two years ago at a bridal show. Since she was getting married on the coveted 10/10/20 wedding date, she began her vendor search super early and I’m so glad she did. I had to turn away at least 50 inquiries for the date, but it was so worth it! I couldn’t imagine a better wedding to fill this spot.
At our first consultation, I asked Madison about her vision for the day and she described it as romantic, luxurious, and extravagant. I remember this conversation clearly because my first thought was, the pressure is on. Of course I doubted myself a bit. Am I really good enough to photograph this elaborately detailed wedding? Madison had such a clear picture for her day and I didn’t want to let her down.
Let me tell you, this wedding was a dream come true for me. I photograph luxurious wedding inspiration all the time through styled shoots, but it’s very rare I see this much detail put into a wedding day. Madison had everything I could ever imagine photographing. The invitations were perfection. Her gown was exquisite and she even had a custom veil made! When I first saw her veil, I said to her mom “of course it has feathers on it.” The feathers matched Madison’s dress and shoes perfectly! She couldn’t have possibly put any more thought into this day! Madison is just incredible. Her attention to detail is seriously unmatched!
I could talk about the details all day, but I should mention the couple who made it all possible. Madison and Blake met in middle school and became best friends. It wasn’t until Freshman year of high school when they made it official and Blake asked her to be his date for the homecoming dance. Madison’s brother mentioned in his speech that she was too afraid to ask Blake to hang out, so she asked her brother to invite him over for video games. Two and a half years ago, they began planning this incredible day!
It’s so refreshing to see this couple, who have been together 9 years now, so much in love! They elected to not have a first look and you could see Blake’s anticipation as Madison was about to walk down the aisle. He had to turn away a few times because he couldn’t hide his emotions. His reaction was priceless reaction when he thought he was about to see Madison, but instead, it was the ring bearers walking down the aisle. Blake gasped and immediately teared up when he saw her face! All of their love and appreciation for each other was seen in that moment.
The rest of the night was absolute perfection as well! They entered through a spark machine and danced on a cloud of dry ice. You could see their love in every stolen kiss.
Although less romantic, one of my favorite parts of the night had to be their cake smash. Instead of the typical feeding each other the cake, they made a game out of it and had a blast. Blake definitely got the short end of the stick and ended up with a beard full of cake. ?
Thank you so much Madison and Blake for allowing me to work with you over the last two years. Your love is so real and special. What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?
Take everything one step at at time. Do what you and your groom want! Try not to be that person that tries to make everyone else happy. Its your day, your happiness is all that matters
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Everything!! I’ve loved every minute of the wedding planning process, but I think my favorite part was all the little details that go into a wedding.
