Johnson County Carnival Engagement | Samantha + Mark
Samantha and Mark had such a fun Johnson County Carnival engagement session this last week!
When Samantha and I first started planning their engagement session, she knew it had to be something out of the ordinary. She loved the idea of going on a boat ride or having a picnic, but when she mentioned the possibility of a carnival, I was sold. I had never shot at a carnival before and was definitely up for the challenge.

We met up at the carnival and immediately began riding rides. The rest of the carnival goers probably thought we were crazy because I instructed them to kiss at every stop. Even with my constant prompts, they still had a blast riding rides and hanging out together.
Halfway through the session, Samantha mentioned they wanted to eat a funnel cake together. I asked if they would be willing to do a funnel cake smash and they were so on board. I love it when couples jump on my crazy ideas despite getting messy in the process.

Toward the end of the session, it was getting dark. I rarely have the opportunity to use much flash at engagement sessions despite always packing all my equipment. I brought out lights, once again looking like a crazy person, going through the carnival with a full flash set up.
These two are seriously so fun together. From the first time I talked to Samantha, I knew we were a perfect fit. She was planning for a non-traditional wedding that really fit their personality as a couple. Their whole vibe was everything I hope for when booking a client.
Thank you so much Samantha and Mark for hanging out with me at the Johnson County carnival. I truly had a blast with you and can’t wait for the wedding!

– Hear from the couple –
How did he propose?
He had all my family come together and surprised me at my mom’s house, he proposed to my daughter and got her a ring as well!
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
I think if there is one thing I love most about mark is his pure acceptance of who I am! He loves me for all that I am and the way he loves is so tender but mighty. I could be crazier than I am now (which is a lot) and he’d still love me with no hesitations. I have never felt more myself than when I am with him. He is my best friend.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
I love her big kind heart. She has definitely made me want to be a better person and she makes me feel loved and special in every way possible. And her smile brightens my day every time.
What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?
Daydreaming about the big day. I get so excited when I think of all the special memories we will make! I also love the creating the vibe! We are a pretty fun spirited couple and I can’t wait to showcase who we are on our big day!
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
Becoming Mrs. Tuazon! We cannot wait to be legally joined together! (also that dance floor!!)
