Kansas City Engagement | Paige + Austin

Paige and Austin had such a fun Kansas City engagement session this last weekend! We began the session at the Nelson and finished with a beautiful sunset at Loose Park.

These two were so fun to work with. From laying in a bed of ivy to going along with all my crazy prompts, they didn't stop laughing and having a blast together.

Thank you Paige and Austin for a wonderful Kansas City engagement session!

How did he propose?

I (Paige) wanted to plan a getaway to look forward to after volleyball season (I coach HS volleyball). Austin suggested Florida and I have a family member who has a place in Sarasota that I have always gone to, so we booked a trip in December to get out of the cold and have a little weekend getaway. Austin was very adamant about going to watch the sunset at a particular beach and go to a nice dinner the first night of vacation, so he planned our entire first night. I was a little suspicious as to why he was so adamant about this but I didn't want to get my hopes up. All day I had convinced myself that I was over thinking it and it was just going to be a regular night. But, to my surprise it was not just a regular night. We got to the beach just before sunset, had our blanket and wine set out. I was trying to get an artsy picture of my wine glass on the beach with the sunset in the background when I hear "Paige" and there is Austin down on one knee behind me! Even though I was suspicious/hopeful he might propose, I was still totally shocked at that moment! He went above and beyond, he hired a photographer to capture the moment and take sunset pictures on the beach to commemorate the night. To top it off, we had the best dinner I think I've ever had at the restaurant he picked out. It was a perfect night and then we got to celebrate just us two the rest of the vacation before we told anyone else 🙂

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love that Austin has such a big heart, he is the most selfless person and will always put me, his family, or anyone he loves before himself and is always thinking of everyone else first. He will always be the hardest working person in the room. But the thing I love the most is that he makes me feel so special, so secure, and so loved.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

Paige is my why. She gives me a sense of purpose and motivation to be a better person and man. She is truly my best friend and is the first person I want to tell good news or break bad news to. She has the kindest heart and is always willing to help friends, neighbors, or strangers in the grocery store. She is my person I can't go more than a few hours without thinking about her or seeing something she may like.

What's your favorite part about wedding planning?

The more we get planned, the more I can vision our big day and it makes me so excited because I've never had an idea of a dream wedding, but as long as it involved Austin I don't really care about anything else!

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Austin- I am excited to do our first look because we plan to have a special moment to share our own vows just us and enjoy the few minutes that we get to just enjoy each other.
Paige- I am most looking forward to marrying Austin and sharing our special moments together, but also getting to celebrate with all of those we love!
