I’ve had a lot of engagement sessions lately, but it has been a couple months since I had a Liberty Memorial engagement session.
Mar’Tionna and Phillip met me at Liberty Memorial to have an iconic Kansas City engagement session. When we first made plans earlier in the summer, Liberty Memorial was very much under construction. I was hoping it would be cleared by the day of our session, but half the monument was still closed down. Oh well. We made it work and explored all we could!
These two are such a cute couple. It was so much fun watching them laugh together. While we were walking, we got to talking. I always get to know my couples with an engagement questionnaire, but I still find out so many interesting facts through our conversations.
Seriously, Mar’Tionna is amazing. She’s a mother of two who just graduated college and is starting nursing school soon on top of wedding planning. The kicker is she’s only 22 years old. I am so impressed by her and her dedication to life while raising a family.
I also have to talk a bit about how Mar’Tionna and Phillip met. I usually don’t share this bit of information from the questionnaire because a lot of modern romances start online or in college, but these two met when they were in elementary school! They met as neighborhood kids, living around the corner together. Now, 9 years later, they’re planning an epic wedding and I can’t wait to be part of it!
Here’s your preview! More to come shortly!
– Hear from the couple –
How did he propose?
He proposed by renting a clubhouse at some apartment complex and gathering all of our close family and friends to surprise me. It was decorated really nice and he made sure we were dressed nice as well. He made me think we were going to a birthday celebration for his late grandma and the dress code was formal (that’s how he got me to dress really nice).
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
I love how he loves me. He’s not afraid to love me out loud and express his feelings about me.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
I love her will and drive, I also love how encouraging she is.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
I am looking forward to seeing how good he’s going to look with a ring on his finger!! I’m also looking forward to having a great time with our guests.
