Lone Summit Ranch wedding reception

Lone Summit Ranch Wedding | Jessi + Hayden

My second Lone Summit Ranch wedding of the weekend is here! Jessi and Hayden had such a beautiful day. Despite the crappy forecast, we were able to miss most of the rain. We did have a slight downpour during the father and bride first look, but thankfully it held off the rest of the day and we were able to end the night with a gorgeous cloudy sunset.

My favorite moment of the day had to be right after the father/daughter dance. Jessi’s only brother passed away, so she surprised her mom with an honorary mother/son dance. There wasn’t a dry eye in the room.

We wanted a space that is comfortable and fun while still having some chic and rustic looks. Hayden is really just going with the flow here, so he wouldn’t have cared really where we were having our party. 🙂 We both grew up in small towns and as we started looking at venues in KC that could hold 250+ people, we realized most places in the city just looked like or were old warehouses and we both agreed for us that didn’t fit. We wanted something a little more warm and inviting without having to add so much decor and floral to make it what we wanted. Lone Summit’s venue without anything extra is already gorgeous and felt like it fit us, so it was an easy choice!

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s):

I have always wanted a barn/rustic look for my wedding and when I started the search there were only 2 choices in the KC area that had the look I wanted and could hold our initial guest count. We toured Lone Summit Ranch first and instantly fell in love with the property and its story. Lone Summit Ranch is the perfect space with so many opportunities and places for the guests to feel comfortable and have fun. The property also provides wonderful country views, a large pond and buildings that will offer great places for photos to be taken. We never toured the second venue that was on our list and we have been very happy with the process and our choice of Lone Summit Ranch.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Have fun with it, allow yourself down time in the planning stages and work together making memories as you share this process to the best day of your life so far!

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Checking things off the list! When you are such a type A person like me, it is the best feeling when you cross another item or vendor off the list that leads you one step closer to that day you have been dreaming of!
