What happens when you combine a lake, a boat, and a guitar? Dreams come true, that's what happens. Nicole, Ryan, and I(not to be confused with another Nicole and Ryan I had last month) met up on their private boat in order to capture these dreamy engagement photos before their destination wedding later this year.
When Nicole first contacted me a few months ago about taking engagement photos on their boat, I didn't know what to expect. I have never done photos on a boat before, but I wasn't about to turn down this opportunity. Of course I did my research, but it's still hard to know what to expect when you are venturing onto someone's private property site unseen.
When we arrived, we walked to where the boat was docked and Ryan took us to a secluded part of the lake. We docked and let the magic happen. Nicole and Ryan brought some props including Ryan's guitar. I sat back and watched him play to Nicole while they cuddled together on the back of the boat. I loved watching them interact naturally in a place that is so special to them.
In addition to the guitar, we also had to pop some champagne and bring out the wine! It wouldn't be a lake day without some booze, right?

How did he propose?
We were on the boat on our 4th anniversary, we were lounging in the sun and he turned on the song In case you didn't know by Brett Young and got down on one knee and asked me. He didn't have a ring because he wanted me to be a part of picking it out so he gave me the friendship bracelet I made him on our second date. 🙂
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
I love his brain, he is intelligent and I love the conversations I have with him. I feel that we challenge each other to grow as people and he also understands me so well. Added plus: touch is both of our love languages 🙂 I love our cuddle time!
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
Her heart. She is the sweetest, kindest, most considerate person I have ever met.
What's your favorite part about wedding planning?
We are doing a destination wedding and my favorite part is the lack of having to make a 1000 decisions.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
Walking down the aisle and seeing his face knowing we have the rest of our life together
