Cortney and Josh had a beautiful wedding at Redemptorist Catholic Church and Loose Mansion wedding reception on Friday! These two didn’t have the easiest time with wedding planning, thanks COVID.
They were actually married last August, but weren’t able to have their reception until this year. It was fun for me to watch all their dreams finally come to fruition.
Despite already being married for a year, Cortney and Josh pulled out all the stops complete with a full mass, delicious plated dinner, and choreographed first dance. Cortney also had the most incredible custom-made veil. This veil was seriously amazing. It was so long that it was near impossible to completely fit in one picture. I also loved seeing Josh emotional as his bride started walking down the aisle. After being legally married for a year, you know you found someone special when he still tears up as he sees his beautiful bride wearing her dress once again.
After the ceremony, we went to the Peanut with the full wedding party, so they could grab a drink. This bar is extra special to Cortney and Josh because it’s where they had their first date, so it’s awesome we were able to capture some fun moments on their wedding day.
Once we arrived at Loose Mansion, Cortney wanted to capture all the beauty of the venue! We started in the basement and worked our way up to the third floor where the dancing will take place. I’ve been to Loose Mansion before, but never had the chance to explore as much as I did with these two.
Before the night was over, we had to step out onto the patio for a few incredible sunset shots. Even though it was a clear day, we still were able to get amazing colors in the sky.
Thank you Cortney and Josh for allowing me to be part of your beautiful Loose Mansion wedding! Here’s your full preview! Enjoy!

Share the inspiration and atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding:
I would say traditional, elegant, “regal”.
Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s):
Loose Mansion: Grand staircase Royal feeling – that’s our “theme” if we had a theme They pretty much handle everything for couples. Church: Elegant, traditional, and the PULPIT. Reminds Cortney of Europe. They also do a good Lenten fish fry with all you can eat shrimp 😉
What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?
Try to plan only one wedding. Do as much research as you can on vendors’ actual work, don’t just read reviews on wedding websites.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Our favorite part was planning a wedding day and weekend where our guests (mostly out of town) could enjoy & see the best of Kansas City.
