Wedding season is officially in full swing and I feel like I’m slacking in getting this post out. Yes, it has only been five days since their session but I try to be faster with engagement sessions. I’m getting back in the swing of things after a totally awesome destination engagement shoot in Florida. I have a love/hate relationship with vacation. I love them because I get gorgeous shots and have some time to relax, but then I get back and feel so overwhelmed with all the other editing I have to do. Oh well, let’s power through the rest of wedding season!

Anyway, I met up with Jessi and Bill at Loose Park for their gorgeous engagement session. These two were so fun and even brought their dogs for part of the session. The weather was perfect, everything cooperated. I loved watching how Jessi and Bill were able to have an awesome time just being weird together. It was hard getting them to be serious, but that’s totally fine! I loved capturing them being true to themselves!

So excited for their October wedding at my favorite venue, Enchanted Acres!

How did he propose?

I was sick and we were traveling back to Missouri from a trip to Indiana to see my family. We stopped by Bill’s parents house. We got in an argument because he would not let me go in the house with him. I was confused as to why I wasn’t allowed, because I am close with his parents. I had my dog Chico with us, so I just got out of the car and took him walking around in the yard. Bill came out of the house and pretended to slip on ice (which was not there, by the way lol) and said he thought he sprained his ankle. He asked me to help him up. Well he continued to stay down, and I kept saying “What are you doing? Get up!”. Finally, after saying this a few times and him just looking at me, I said ” Alright, hurry get up Chico is trying to poop” (lol). He then stuttered and said “umm Will you marry me?”. I just kept asking if he was serious, and if he was sure. He kept assuring me that yes, he was serious and sure. So I finally said “ok yes, yeah, I will.” I cried and he cried. It was far from romantic. lol But Im just glad he asked!

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love that he laughs at his own jokes, knee slapping, tears in the eyes, laughs at himself lol . I love how big his heart is. He is always willing to go above and beyond to help others and never asks for anything in return. I love that he accepts me for me, all my faults, my personalities, on my good and bad days. He is always there for me, in any way that I need him to be and He loves me more than I feel I deserve at times. He is one of the most hardworking men I’ve ever known. I love that even though he works a lot of hours, he is willing to tackle my projects around the house.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

There is such an endless amount of things that I love about her. Everything about her is amazing. She makes me feel so alive with just her being, her spirit, her sense of humor, and of course her sweet dance moves. I love how we are a team and help each other out to achieve goals and ambitions. I love renovating the house and she comes through and decorates it perfectly.

What’s your favorite part of wedding planning?

Probably just watching it all come together. Knowing no matter what happens, or if something is missed, at the end of the day I get to marry my best pal!

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Just having both of our families together. The majority of my family has not be able to meet his. It will just be so amazing to have everyone under the same roof, celebrating this next adventure of our life.
