Let me tell you a funny story.
This is Kellen and Brian. Aren’t they adorable? I had no idea I was going to take their engagement photos until about an hour before we met up at Loose Park.
Their photographer was sick and Kellen didn’t want perfectly styled hair to go to waste, so I was so excited when I got a call asking if I was available.
Moral to the story. Answer your phone. I never do, but the one time I did, it was someone as awesome as Kellen on the other end.
So, that being said, I didn’t really know anything about Kellen and Brian before the session. I didn’t even know what they looked like, how they found me, or what they did for a living. I typically always send my couples an engagement questionnaire to get to know them a bit better, but I had no time with this session.
Instead of doing things the millennial way and finding it all out through an online form, I had to talk to them and ask questions. Weird, right?? Nah, I enjoy talking to my couples but instead of just engaging in small talk, I spent a lot of the session getting to know them.
Kellen is working on her residency and Brian is in the financial world. They’re truly picture perfect together. The way they interacted was priceless and they were totally willing to follow any weird prompts I gave them. I felt hesitant since I didn’t know them before the session and wasn’t sure how they would react to some of the awkward things I say to evoke real emotions, but they totally nailed it.
Thanks so much Kellen and Brian for allowing me to capture your love at the last minute. I couldn’t think of a better way to spend a Friday night!

Also, public service announcement, I’ve been really sick this week and trying to edit as fast as I can, but I’ve been spending more time on NyQuil than in front of the computer and no on wants to see my edits while delirious.
