Loose Park Engagement | Lauren + Ezra

Lauren and Ezra had a wonderful engagement session at Loose Park on Sunday. The weather was absolutely perfect and that light was amazingly golden.

I first began talking to Lauren a couple months ago, immediately following their engagement. We had been Instagram friends for a bit and then she entered my engagement session giveaway when I first started opening up my email list to non-current brides. I announced the giveaway as a way to share a free planning guide with recently engaged brides, and I was so happy when I saw Lauren's name after entering.

Lauren and Ezra were the perfect couple for my giveaway because they followed my style guide to the T! She even told me she bought four dresses specifically for the shoot and settled on two of the most gorgeous ones I have ever seen! For those who don't know, I have a 20-page engagement style guide that I send to every couple who books an engagement session. Immediately after contacting Lauren about the session, she wanted to get into wardrobe planning mode and she definitely delivered! I may be updating my style guide with several of their pictures because everything they wore was perfect. From Ezra's suit to Lauren's shoes, they came dressed to impress!

When Lauren first reached out, they hadn't even decided on a venue. They're still debating on whether they want to do a destination elopement or keep it more local (I travel, hint hint). I'm so glad I had the chance to do this session to show them what working with me is like! So many photographers refuse to do free sessions, but I love the opportunity to give back on occasion and have some fun with a deserving couple. My last giveaway took place two years ago, so it was about time I gave back to the community. Obviously my business wouldn't be sustainable if I did this on a regular basis, but it's nice to do every once in a while!

On top of dressing to impress, Lauren and Ezra were so fun together! For the majority of the session, I just captured them laughing and interacting naturally. They had no problem going off script to create amazing images! For one of my favorite photos from the shoot, Ezra decided to pick Lauren up and twirl her around. It's funny how sometimes my favorite images are the ones I don't pose at all!

Thank you so much Lauren and Ezra for hanging out with me on Sunday! Here's your full preview! More to come shortly!

Hear from the couple -

How did he propose?

If there is one thing you should know about Lauren, it is that she does not like big surprises. Unfortunately, I love them! I made sure to make her think it was going to happen at a State Park on Saturday, but actually popped the question the Wednesday before. I told her we were going to a dinner with family friends, but we should go to Kauffman Gardens before hand. Unfortunately, she is way to smart and figured it out on the car ride over. What she did not know was that I hid a scrapbook of everything from our first year together in the park and when she finished the book, the last page said "Marry Me?".

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

There are so many things I love about Ezra. I love how supportive he is of me in medical school and other goals that I have. He is my best friend and I love his focus on growth and ability to communicate with me. Ezra is super creative and we can always have the best time together no matter what.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

If I must pick one thing that I love about Lauren, it how empathetic she is. I love how smart and hardworking she is, but her ability to always approach a situation from others' perspective is uncanny and helps me see different view points.

What's your favorite part about wedding planning?

The pictures of course. Actually, our favorite part is diving into the details of how we will spend our lives together. We believe the wedding is important, but planning how the other 99.9 percent of our life will go so important and very fun!

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Being with each other and starting the rest of our life together! Some good cake will be awesome too. (Added by me: Same...cake is life.)

I cannot believe I just saw these one year later. Ezra is my son’s best friend. I love every picture. My favorite is the ones in the light pink dress. She looks like a princess. They are the cutest couple ever. I absolutely love these pictures. They tell their story perfectly. You are an amazing photographer.
