It's hard to believe the summer is almost over! I took a couple month break from engagement sessions because of the heat and now the Fall season is officially in motion. August is always one of my favorite months because I get a little break to refresh before wedding season kicks into full gear in September.

It was so great kicking off this busy season with Lisa and John at Loose Park. These two actually flew in to Kansas City specifically for the session making me feel super special! I'm so glad they were able to make time to come in with their crazy busy schedules. John is actually a commercial pilot and Lisa works for the airline in addition to currently being enrolled in grad school at Harvard.

Lisa and John are so fun together. I loved watching them interact naturally while I captured some beautiful expressions. I'm excited for their wedding day in May!

How did he/she propose?

He had planned to propose on the top of the Eiffel Tower (we had our tower reservation booked), but a crazy guy decided to climb the tower that day. As a result, the tower was shut down/closed for remainder of the day. We couldn't re-book because those reservations book up months out. John ended up proposing instead on our hotel balcony, which overlooks and is close to the Eiffel Tower. Was still super romantic.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

John is so romantic and funny. I love that he is always being sneaky, doing nice things for me or leaving me sweet notes. He decorates my coffee cozies with poetry, jokes, and/or doodles. He is also a gentleman...drips me off at front door during rain, carries my luggage up and down stairs, etc.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

Lisa is thoughtful (sexy) and kind (sexy) and honest (sexy) and smart (sexy) and trustworthy (sexy) and beautiful (sexy) and joyous (sexy) and funny (sexy) and sexy. She laughs at my jokes, she lets me be sneaky, she loves the little things I can do for her and she is super sexy. Also, sexy.

What's your favorite part about wedding planning?

John: thinking about getting both the families together.
Lisa: Being able to organize and craft events, people, etc. into the vision we have for our special day.

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Lisa: Family celebrating the big event together....and looking forward to being Ms. John Moore (I love that out of all the people he could have chosen from, he picked ME!) ...AND ditching my LONG last name for a shorter and much easier one.
John: seeing Lisa in her dress and locking in her commitment to me with a pretty ring.
