Manna Fellowship Church Wedding | Katlyn + Michael

“If you were wearing a paper bag, you would still be the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen.” Those were the words Michael said to Katlyn moments after seeing her for the first time and have stuck with me since their Manna Fellowship Church wedding on Saturday. The whole day was filled with so many happy tears and sweet moments!

Share the inspiration and atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding:

I have told a lot of people that my inspiration for the atmosphere of our wedding is my love for Michael. I wanted it to look like an outward manifestation of my love for him. That is hard to do when there’s a budget though. Lol. I hope my vision comes across in the floral arrangements and the romanticism and beauty of the decor. I hope it feels like a perfect mesh of his personality and mine, right down to the food.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s):

Michael and I will be tying the knot at our church. We ended up choosing our church for several reasons, the biggest one being that’s where we met and, to our core, that’s who we are. We love our community at church and while there are breathtakingly beautiful venues out there, I wanted to be true to who we are even with the location. The porch is where the ceremony will be held and we’ll be saying “I do” right in the room where we met and where he asked me to be his wife. I couldn’t think of a better place to marry my best friend.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Take a deep breath and slow down when you feel stressed because the engagement and planning process doesn’t last long. Try to enjoy all of the special moments along the way and don’t sweat the small things.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

For starters, I have to say, wedding dress shopping was SO much fun. Also, doing brunch and spending the afternoon with my bridesmaids was one of my favorite memories from the planning process. For me, the best part is bringing together your friends and family as one along the journey of you and your spouse becoming one. I got to make so many memories with the people I love this past year and its so cool to see how they come together to support you and your soon-to-be spouse.
I was also fortunate enough to work with incredible vendors. People who were so supportive and helped keep me on track when I felt like I didn’t know what I wanted or what I was doing. I feel as though we had the perfect blend of people behind-the-scenes who encouraged us to be ourselves and to have fun during the planning process.
