Meadowbrook Park engagement

Meadowbrook Park Engagement | Rachael + Patrick

When planning out their engagement session, Rachael asked if it was okay if they had a super casual session. The answer is of course! Even though I provide a wardrobe guide and post a lot of photos in formal attire, the most important criterion is you make your session 100% you! Rachael just moved to KC from Chicago. Patrick grew up here (funny story, he went to the brother high school of my school and we knew several of the same people) and they are planning their wedding here, so it was important for them to showcase Rachael’s new KC life. We even started by popping champagne to celebrate their first home together!

After a few obligatory moving in photos, we went to Meadowbrook Park for the remainder of their session. I had never been to Meadowbrook Park, but it may be my new favorite engagement location. From flowery gardens to waterfalls, it has all the backdrops that make an engagement session breathtaking.

Thank you Rachael and Patrick for spending last Sunday with me! Here’s your full preview!

– Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

Patrick and Rachael took a trip to San Diego for a long weekend. Rachael has her suspicions that a proposal was coming and kept checking Patricks pockets for a ring… (heheeeee!). The second day we planned to go to a sunset and a nice dinner. Patrick continuously got lost on the drive to Sunset Cliffs. Once we arrived, he encouraged Rachael to (pretty much hike) down these cliffs to get a good look at the sunset. Rachael, being stubborn, said NO WAY. There is no one on the cliffs and there was a literal sign that said “caution, unstable clfifs”. Little did she know, the photographer had cleared the cliffs of people wanting to watch the sunset. Patrick finally got Rachael on the dang cliff (LOL), where he popped the question! After the photographer popped out from hiding and took a few photos, we walked back up the cliffs- where Rachael was REALLY surprised. Both sets of our parents jumped out from behind cars to surprise her! We spent the night having an awesome dinner and spent the rest of the trip doing fun things with family like going to the beach, trying great restaurants, and going to a baseball game!

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love that it’s so easy to make Patrick smile. He is so grateful and appreciative for the small things!

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

I love Rachael’s positive outlook!
