What was the inspiration?

As mentioned above, I really wanted to make this shoot feel like Spring. I was so sick of winter and just needed some light and airy in my life. After scouring through Pinterest with the green theme in mind, I came across lavender. The colors seemed to go together beautifully. We also added some other neutral tones as well as hints of gold. Through the journey of finding the inspiration, we also decided to focus on organic aspects. The venue has gorgeous rustic walls, so we didn't want to go to elegant and make the venue look out of place.

What was different?

What was the theme?

The theme was lavender and green. Since I really wanted to focus on Spring, I couldn't think of anything better than greenery. Greenery is such a gorgeous trend these days. I absolutely love it when I have a bride with a giant bouquet full of greenery and all natural flowers. Heart + Soul Floral did an incredible job of adding greenery to everything she created. We even had greenery across the table. How awesome is that? Lavender naturally came to be when focusing on the light and airy aspects of a wedding day. I love purple and light purple is not a very popular wedding color. Why not? It should be! The lavender hues complemented the greenery beautifully.

I am so excited to share this passion project with you all! A couple weeks ago, I planned and organized an incredible styled shoot at Meadowlark Event Center in Spring Hill. For the last styled shoot I did, I focused on darker colors, so I really wanted to do things a bit differently with this one. I wanted it to feel like Spring. I don't know about you, but I was starting to get really sick of the cold and stormy weather, so I decided to change my style up a bit and focus on the light and airy.

Most photographers either describe themselves as dark and moody or light and airy. I'm in a weird place right in the middle and I've never really felt comfortable letting myself go either direction. With this shoot, I really wanted to challenge myself to go brighter and lighter. I've been so desperate for Spring and this shoot definitely felt like an intro to the best time of the year.
