Christi and Evan were married on Saturday at a Mildale Farm Wedding in Gardner, Kansas. Even with the 100 degree heat, we couldn’t have had a more beautiful and perfect day.

When Christi hired me about a year and a half ago, we could have never guessed the craziness they would have had to endure while planning a wedding. As everyone knows, the world came to a screeching halt in March and no one knew if this wedding would even happen on the original date until a few weeks before! Thankfully Kansas released restrictions and their guests weren’t going to miss this epic celebration for anything! Christi and Evan even provided masks and hand sanitizer to make everyone feel extra comfortable!

Since Christi and Evan both work in healthcare, they’ve been closely monitoring the COVID-19 situation, but nothing was going to stop them from having their dream day with all their closest friends and family who braved the elements to celebrate with them. Everything about their day was absolutely perfect, from the gorgeous venue to the incredible sunset. Even with the current state of the world, these two celebrated exactly as they had originally planned. Around 100 guests still showed up, displaying their love for the beautiful couple.

The day started with getting ready at Mildale Farm’s Carriage House. I arrived and could see how much love surrounded Christi. Her bridesmaids were snapping all the selfies as she finished up her hair and makeup and the cutest little flower girl wandered around the bridal suite.

As everyone knows, weddings rarely go off without a hitch, but their wedding was pretty close to perfect. The biggest issue was Evan couldn’t find his belt. After a brief moment of panic, the belt was found and everything else was exactly as planned.

I have to give major props to their wedding party who all braved the heat without a single complaint, even Evan’s young son. That kid deserves the biggest applause of all. He smiled through an hour of portraits without a peep!

Even throughout the planning process, Christi, along with help from her amazing wedding planner of a mother, Susan, were able to look on the bright side and plan the day Christi had always dreamed of…well besides the whole worldwide pandemic thing.

Thank you so much Christi and Evan for allowing us to be part of your perfect day! From our engagement session to your wedding day, I felt honored to capture your love on photo and film! From the laughs to the tears to the optimistic attitudes, your day couldn’t have been any more amazing! I’m so glad I was able to witness your love!
