Byllie and Tyler had such a great Nelson-Atkins Museum couple's session last week!
I have actually known Tyler for more than 10 years. We worked together when I was in college and I always thought he was such a fun person. We hung around different people for most of our time, but I always loved working with him. Fast forward to about 6 years ago, I had just started up my business and was reaching out to all my Facebook friends who were engaged and might allow me to practice on them. Yes, I was creepy like that but it worked.

I asked Tyler if him and Byllie might want some pictures taken. At this point, I hadn't done a wedding before and was still in the portfolio stage of my business, so the thought of photographing their wedding didn't cross my mind. He responded with something along the lines of "we talked and would like you to photograph the wedding." I was in shock, but wasn't going to turn down the opportunity to get a wedding under my belt. Over the next few months, I photographed a couple other weddings so I had a chance to practice a bit before theirs.
When I met Byllie for the first time on their wedding day, I could tell how perfect these two were for each other. They were so in love and perfectly comfortable being weird together. It was great seeing Tyler with someone who complemented him so well.

Fast forward to a few months ago and these two have built an incredible life over the last 5 years. They're living in Kansas City with beautiful fur babies and decided it was time for some updated photos. Catching up with past couples is one of my favorite parts of my job. Their wedding feels like a lifetime ago, so it was great to have the chance to work with them again!
Their love is just as strong as it was five years ago. They still have the same humorous ways and love each other's company just as much!
Thanks for choosing me for your family photos! Next time, I expect to meet the fur babies! Here's your full preview! More to come shortly!
