Gregg and Elaine had such an incredible wedding at the Cathedral of Immaculate Conception and On Broadway Rooftop Event Space last weekend. Everything from the portraits to the sunset flowed seamlessly and I’m so happy to have had an opportunity to photograph at such an incredible venue.
The day started at the Weston in Crown Center. This hotel is gorgeous for getting ready. There are so many windows, giving the venue incredible light. One of Elaine’s requests was to jump on the bed with her flower girls. This was such a fun moment to capture.
After getting ready, we made our way to the church and let me tell you, this church is gorgeous. The Cathedral is seriously the most gorgeous church, letting in amazing natural light.
Following the ceremony, we had four hours to explore Kansas City for portraits. We went to the Kauffman Center and Liberty Memorial to capture some iconic Kansas City scenes.
The night ended with a super fun reception at On Broadway Rooftop Event Space. I love outdoor receptions and this was perfect for them. We even had the pleasure of experiencing a gorgeous sunset on top of the venue.
Gregg and Elaine are also incredible people. They spend so much time on traveling, so they wanted to bring their travels to their wedding, so they had a Kava ceremony. Kava is a drink from the pepper family. I even had a sip, it wasn’t bad. In their pre-wedding questionnaire, Elaine responded with something I had never heard before. They wanted to save money on the celebration in order to give more to those in need. She said “Gregg & I have different views on spending money. I am the frugal one that had to reel him in occasionally. Our travels have given us many opportunities to see how others live on little to nothing. The details that we saved on allowed us to provide support to impoverished students of a rural school in South Africa.” Isn’t that incredible?
Thank you so much for allowing me to photograph your beautiful wedding at On Broadway Event Space in Kansas City.

Our Reception venue was chosen for of the views of the Kansas City skyline.
