Parkville Nature Sanctuary Engagement | Laura + Nolan

My husband and I have a saying. If there’s a 50 percent chance I will turn the correct way, there’s a 95 percent chance I will turn the wrong way. Well, that’s pretty much what happened last night when Laura, Nolan, and I went to explore the Parkville Nature Sanctuary. The forecast showed the rain was going to stop by 3. Well, by the time of our session at 5:30, it was still raining. We thought, why not and started hiking. About an hour into our very wet hike, we still had not found the area we were looking for. We did find the entrance though. Despite hiking up a river (or a flooded mountain) for no reason, I’m still so happy with the images we were able to capture. It was definitely an adventure and a day to remember.

Let me just talk for a bit about how amazing these two are. Laura was hiking up this hill, soaking wet, in heels without complaining!! I can barely walk on solid ground in heels without getting mad about it.

Thank you Laura and Nolan for being the most awesome couple ever and making the best of the situation! I’ll see you again in a few months for a REAL engagement session. This one was just a test because I know you’ve always wanted to go hiking in a torrential downpour 🙂

Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

Nolan proposed during a hike at Fleming Park. We hiked out to a secluded lookout and he had me face away from the camera towards the lake for a picture. He walked up, asked me to turn around, and he was down on one knee! After I said YES, he set up a picnic with our favorite foods.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

He completely understands me and inspires me to be the best version of myself every day.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

She’s such a good person. The nicest person I’ve ever met and its not even close.

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

We’re still pretty early in our planning process, but we’re looking forward to cake tasting!

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

We’re most excited about having all of our family and friends together in the same place.
