I was on vacation all last week, so I know I'm super late on getting this blog post out. I wanted to give them a large enough day of preview to hold them over until this post is ready. Brace yourselves for the most emotional wedding day I have ever been part of.

Greyson and Alyssa chose to have a Pavilion Event Space wedding and it was absolutely perfect. It had snowed the night before, so we were given beautiful white scenery to complement the already breathtaking chapel.

I knew from our engagement session that Greyson and Alyssa were the perfect couple. They knew how to have a blast together and didn't stop laughing the entire session. That still rang true for their wedding day. I never saw either of them without a smile on their faces. Even during our outdoor pictures, they never complained about the temperature and laughed through every single pose.

I say this was one of the most emotional weddings I have ever been a part of because Alyssa and Greyson haven't had the easiest last year. "Our first dance song is From the Ground Up by Dan and Shay," Alyssa said. "We chose this song for our first dance as husband and wife because we literally had to rebuild our lives together from the ground up. We had an apartment fire in April of 2021 and lost everything. We all got out safely but had to start over and rebuild our lives together."

In addition to the emotions about the fire, I will never forget Greyson's vows. Alyssa's son, Brock, has been an important part of their relationship since day one and the love was so obvious. "I'll never forget the first time you called me dad," Greyson said in his vows to Brock during the wedding ceremony. Not only did he address his feelings for Alyssa, but he also had an entire part dedicated to Brock.

After their first dance, they had a family dance in order to include Brock. I don't believe there was a dry eye in the building, myself included. The son was a perfect representation of all three of them and how they have built their lives together, not just as a couple but as a family. I apologize for the 1000 pictures I will be including just from this dance.

On a happier note, Alyssa and Greyson included their love for Harry Potter in their decor. Everything from the garter to centerpieces were Harry Potter themed. Both Alyssa and Greyson also wore pins from the franchise on their attire.

The theme of Harry Potter was obvious, but the most important theme throughout the day was love. Love for each other. Love for their son, and love for everyone who made this day special.

We chose our wedding venue because the staff were amazing and we were really able to picture our wedding being there. They were very excited about us having hints of Harry Potter. We also loved the layout and look of the venue itself and have the option of a nice place for pictures outside. The staff there are really fun to work with and extremely helpful.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Work together as a team and try to work on it a little each week. Have fun planning your wedding and put your touches on it.

What was your favorite part of the planning process?

Coming up with all the little details of Harry Potter in it and creating things for the wedding such as the wedding favors and the white boards for the kids to use.
