I am so in love with the Pavilion Event Space in Independence, Missouri. I’ve visited the venue before, but this was my first wedding there. The architecture is incredible, which is part of the reason why Andrea chose the space to begin with.
Andrea and Jimmy were married on a beautiful 97 degree day. Thankfully the ceremony was already scheduled to be inside, but we were wondering what to do about portraits. Andrea loved the open air chapel, but making family walk outside in this heat wasn’t realistic. So, we had to move all the portraits in doors. The reception hall is still gorgeous, so it was a fairly easy transition.
One of my favorite parts of the Pavilion Event Space (besides the gorgeous open air chapel) is the first dance. Their first dance took place on a cloud! Seriously, scroll down to see these images. I included way more first dance images than I usually do because it’s frickin’ incredible! Ahh, I’m in love.
Thank you so much Andrea and Jim for allowing me to be part of your gorgeous day at the Pavilion Event Space!

Share your inspiration and the atmosphere you’re creating for your wedding.
Groom’s family name “King” is very important. and the bride would love to be a queen as ever girl. Started as fairytale and then changed to great Gatsby. Now is more of an elegant and romantic twist with a black and gold theme.
Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s).
Something elegant and tasteful; bride has a love of architecture and couldn’t afford the one she wanted. The venue meets the needs and pricepoint, but is beautiful. Also, our priorities for the wedding were open bar, DJ, and party atmosphere. venue meets that without compensating class
What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?
Start early. Brides–Pick a good Maid of Honor and care about your mother’s opinion. Grooms–Give her what she wants and keep some sort of calendar/organization for yourself.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Pinterest! And just getting excited to be Mrs. King; groom is good with letting me take the reins (which is how I like it)
