Darian and Josh had such incredible light for their Sar Ko Par Trails engagement session! The park was glowing and the weather even cooperated for once.

Fun moment of the session: I asked Darian jokingly if she wanted to climb a tree. She didn't hesitate and basically jumped in the tree. Then I spent the next few minutes trying to figure out how to pose them because I didn't actually expect her to say yes. I kinda love the results.

Thanks for hanging out with me Darian and Josh for your Sar Ko Par Trails engagement session. Let's do it again in a couple months!

How did he propose?
In 2021, Josh got re-stationed to Texas and left New Jersey that August. We spent almost 6 months apart while I finished out my contract in New Jersey. While waiting to see each other, I bought us tickets to see the comedian, Tom Segura, in early 2022. The tickets were for the Dallas show on January 29th. Right before Christmas of 2021, Josh flew out to NJ to travel back with me to Kansas City to spend the holidays with my family, before helping me make the move to Texas to join him. Little did I know at the time, while in Kearney visiting my parents, that's when Josh let them know he planned on proposing. They of course had no issues with it, they love him. Well, I get settled into Texas after the holidays and almost forgot I bought the tickets to the show. Josh didn't though. On the night of the show, he made a reservation at Reunion Tower. We had a closed off area at the top to ourselves, it was beautiful. I honestly thought nothing of the reservation because Josh seriously surprises me with romantic gestures and plans often (I know, he's perfect). HOWEVER, what caught my attention was his nerves that he was trying so hard to hide. And I, sadly, ruined it. Plot twist.
I was so nervous that he was nervous, and I was nervous because I had "the feeling", you know, the one girls get when they realize their partner is about to ask THE question. I am very shy, so is he, so the large romantic setting surrounded by a bustling Reunion Tower urged me to ask him, "Whatcha up to?" -that's paraphrased. Long story short, my asking and him noticing my nerves once I noticed his nerves caused him to push it off until later. Once we returned to the hotel, overlooking the Dallas skyline at night, that's when he got down on one knee and asked me in private and of course, I was ecstatic (and less nervous). Unfortunately, we lost the photo op he planned because I apparently couldn't handle being asked in public (karma).
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
His sense of humor and humility. I was a stress ball when we first met, on top of it being the start of the pandemic, and this guy was able to make me smile everyday (according to old coworkers, I resembled a sociopath with how little my face moved). He makes everyone smile and always keeps it real.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
She ACTUALLY is my best friend. Everybody talks about what a partner SHOULD be, but when people seem to get honest I hear a lot of “you have to take the good with the bad” and “marriage is work”. I believed that until I met Darian. She is my best friend, I can tell her anything. We can go out on the town or stay inside for days and I never miss out because everything I’ll ever want is her. I can’t imagine life without her in it. I can’t even pinpoint my feelings into a list of things because it’s everything about her as a whole that I’m in love with. I love her smile but if she had no smile my feelings are the same. I love her laugh but if she lost the ability I’d love her the same. (Side note: Darian also commented that she's crying reading his answers. Seriously the sweetest.)
What's your favorite part about wedding planning?
J- The relief of it being over lol. I do enjoy the stress for the sole reason of it being something we experienced and overcame together though. I love taking the steps of life with her, first house, wedding planning, etc.
D- Discovering more about him and his style/preferences. It's refreshing meeting someone that matches your energy and wants to plan everything with you because it is his wedding too, and I love how much he cares about how everything will turn out. Also, we're pretty excited for cake tasting.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
J- Same 👇🏻
D- Seeing all of our friends and family in one place! It's not often we get to see family and friends so we're super excited to celebrate with everyone.
