I just had my last engagement session of the year and it’s such a crazy feeling to be done! This year has been hard and busy, but I wouldn’t have it any other way. Katie and Derek’s Sar Ko Par Trails Engagement Session was the perfect way to end the season! These two are the dictionary definition of relaxed. When it came to scheduling the session, Katie and Derek only cared about having a fun session. The location was irrelevant. The attire was casual. And, the cold didn’t phase them. We’ve been having super nice weather lately, but Saturday was not that great. It was windy and around 40 degrees. It could have been worse, but not once did I hear either of them complain. In fact, Katie even had to go into work later that evening and instead of opting to spend her afternoon off relaxing, they hung out with me! I feel honored! I love Sar Ko Par Trails Park in Lenexa. It’s not requested as a location too often, but I love it because it’s 1. so close to my house, and 2. a nice change of pace! If you’re into Pokemon, it’s also filled with Pokestops, so that’s a major plus. Anyway, thanks Katie and Derek for spending your Saturday afternoon hanging out with me at Sar Ko Par Trails Park. Here’s your full engagement session preview. I can’t wait until your May wedding!
Hear from the couple –
How did he propose?
Derek proposed on Christmas morning! I was opening a present that ended up being a sweatshirt, that had girlfriend crossed out and fiancé written on it. When I turned around he was on a knee and asked me to marry him!
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
He’s super affectionate and loving! It’s refreshing to know before he goes to work I’ll always get a kiss goodbye. He always walks me to my car before I go to work, I love it so much.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
I love her eyes the most.
What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?
That’s a fun one! The idea of just planning a big party where both families get to meet each other is exciting! I personally enjoyed trying on dresses, it was so much fun!
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
