Renee and Alex had a super fun Sar Ko Par Trails engagement session in Lenexa on Tuesday night! It feels so great to be back in the swing of things! I've had an engagement session every week in the past month and I have another wedding this weekend! I couldn't be happier to be working again. Note to self, if you complain about being super busy in September and October, I will end you. Kidding, but I feel like I will enjoy the busy season this year more than I ever have!
These two have been trying to get this session scheduled since March, but COVID had other plans. Since these two are getting married in August, I'm so glad we were able to get it in with a few months to spare.
Sar Ko Par Trails is one of my favorite locations because it's literally five minutes from my house and I don't get a chance to shoot here enough! When Alex and Renee first arrived, Renee went to get beautified and I was able to have a couple minutes to bond with Alex. We began talking about how they first met and he had a near death experience after catching pneumonia. Near death experiences are always a great ice breaker...obviously.
I feel like I rarely get a chance to talk to the groom alone, but I wanted to be sure to make Alex feel comfortable. Before the session, Renee warned me that he would be awkward and that awkwardness would come through in one of two ways. He would either be extremely weird or extremely quiet. I can work with either, but weird is my specialty.
Throughout the entire session, Alex was comfortable joking around in front of the camera. We still were able to get the classic romantic shots, but he had no problem making his future bride crack up. I told him that I would throw in a few bloopers in their final gallery and he asked if there could only be bloopers. Well Alex, you will definitely get your share of bloopers in this post and in your final gallery! Sometimes bloopers are my absolute favorite. There's nothing better than capturing a couple laughing uncontrollably and showing their true personalities.
Everything about the session was perfect! The weather was amazing! The light was fantastic! The couple was a blast! I'm so glad I had a chance to spend my Tuesday night with these two!
Here's your full preview! Your gallery will be ready shortly! I can't wait to celebrate with you two in just a couple short months!
Hear from the couple -
How did he propose?
He proposed super simple, which was very us. He decorated my bedroom with pictures of us through the years and flowers. He wrote in a card a sweet letter to me. and then he walked out as I finished reading and then proposed!
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
I love his sense of humor and witty-ness. I love that he keeps me grounded.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
I love that she keeps me in check. I love the fun and spontaneous spirit she brings to the relationship, and to any aspect of life.
What's your favorite part about wedding planning?
My favorite part about wedding planning is seeing our vision come together and come to life.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
I'm looking forward to being married. We have talked about this day for 4 years and we are just so ready to start the next chapter, and have all of our friends and loved ones around to party and celebrate!
