Emily and Kyle had such a fun Shawnee Mission Park engagement session last week!
The day started out gloomy, cold, and rainy but you wouldn't be able to tell from these images. Contrary to what most believe, gloomy days are the best for pictures because we can go wherever without worrying about lighting. We were able to hit up a few of my favorite Shawnee Mission Park engagement session spots and they were even able to bring in their cute doggie, Penny, for a few images.

Much like Kyle, Penny wasn't a huge fan of pictures. Even though love was not appreciated by me (the dog, not Kyle. I didn't try to pet Kyle), Penny still posed for a few quick photos and then allowed her humans to shower her with love.
Before the session, Emily was able to get all dolled up by Amanda at Studio A Salon. I love when a couple books a styled engagement session because the bride's hair and makeup is always on point. Thanks for being awesome at what you do Amanda!

Thank you Emily and Kyle for hanging out with me on this gloomy Fall day! Here's your preview!
- Hear from the couple -
How did he propose?
Kyle had tried to propose a couple of times which I unknowingly ruined. He ended up proposing to me on a late-night walk along the river at this campground we had been staying at. It was beautiful! There was a backdrop of fireflies and stars.
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
I love Kyle's ambition and sense of humor most. I also love how gentle and loving he is to animals. He is a great dog dad!
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
" I love how sweet, genuine, and supportive she is."
What's your favorite part about wedding planning?
Emily: Seeing everything start to come together!
Kyle: Nothing.
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
Emily: Being married to my fiancé and spending time with friends and family. Oh and getting to wear my wedding dress!
Kyle: Being married to Emily and open bar.
