Shawnee Mission Park Engagement | Emma + Thomas

Emma and Thomas had such a fun Shawnee Mission Park engagement session on Tuesday.

These two were so fun, I didn’t even stop laughing the entire session. I even said the words, “I’m sorry if all your pictures are blurry, I’m laughing too much.” No pictures were harmed with the laughter, but my face was a tad bit sore.

At one point, Emma asked me if they are doing a good job. I love this question because as long as you are having a great time and in love, there’s really no way to not do a good job at your session.

Thanks for hanging out with me Emma and Thomas! Here’s your full preview!

– Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

Thomas took me to a park in the morning for a picnic and then to a local restaurant to study. Meanwhile his roommate was setting up a fancy dinner at his house. We went back to his house and he surprised me with dinner. Then he suggested we play piano. The first thing he pulled out of the piano bench was Lord of the Rings music as a distraction! We probably played that for ten minutes. Then he reached back into the bench and pulled out a binder. The binder was full of pictures of us and all the receipts from our dates and little notes he had taken after each date. At the end of the binder, he had put sheet music for one of my favorite songs. Apparently he had been practicing it for months, and he played it for me on piano! Then he reached into the piano bench one more time and pulled out the ring.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

He has an incredibly strong faith. It is inspiring to see how it shapes his life and decisions. He is so caring and committed.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

The grace, peace, and love that Emma shows me in every aspect of our relationship. I recognize that these are in fact three different attributes, but they work together to cohesively exemplify her Christlike demeanor.

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

We are both very excited for the last dance. Thomas is also excited to see me walking down the aisle for the first time.
