Shawnee Mission Park spring engagement session

Shawnee Mission Park Engagement | Lindsay and Andrew

Lindsay and Andrew had an absolutely beautiful Shawnee Mission Park engagement session on Sunday.

These last few weeks have been super weird with weather. Some days it’s freezing while other days it’s super windy and hot. These two definitely lucked out because the weather was absolutely perfect. It was 70 degrees and partially cloudy allowing us to have the most perfect golden hour. I’m seriously obsessed with the light in every single one of these pictures.

Lindsay and Andrew happen to live right down the street from Shawnee Mission Park and Andrew actually works in the park, so the location fit them perfectly. While we were planning the session, Lindsay mentioned how much she loves pink trees. Since Spring colors are dying out, I was hesitant to believe we would actually be able to find any. While most of the trees had turned green, we found one tree that was full of pink gorgeousness. This was the same spot I took my couple last week and the entire area was pink. I can’t complain though. That tree delivered and you would never know it was just one tree off the side of the road. We were running a bit late, so all the pink tree images were taken after sunset. There was still enough light (thank you daylight savings time) so we made it work!

These two are so fun together. When the session first started, I began as I always do. I asked the groom how good he is at thinking of funny things on the spot. Andrew hesitated and Lindsay said, “Oh it’s not hard to make me laugh.” I still gave him my go to prompts, but he really just needed to look at her and she would start cracking up.

Lindsay is also one of the sweetest humans I have ever met. After the session, she texted me thanking me for such a fun time. That totally made my night. She’s also adorable and model material, but that is besides the point. Andrew is pretty awesome as well. Throughout the whole session, I could see how much these two really cared about each other and respected each other.

Thank you so much for an amazing Spring Shawnee Mission Park engagement session! I loved working with you two so much and I can’t wait for your wedding in a few months. Here’s your preview! More to come shortly!

Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

After a lovely night at dinner, Andrew surprised me by decorating my back porch with twinkling lights, rose pedals and a bottle of champagne. After proposing he then surprised me AGAIN and had all my family and friends gathered to celebrate with us.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love Andrew’s dedication to his family and friends. He is so thoughtful and patient!

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

I love how Lindsay makes everyone around her happy. She lights up every room she’s in and makes nobody feel like they’re a stranger.

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

I love visualizing our special day after booking the little details. It has also been fun bonding with my friends and family as we plan the wedding.

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

I’m looking forward to finally be a Bierbaum! I can’t wait to finally call Andrew my husband. I’m excited to celebrate as newly weds with the people we love the most.
