Shawnee Mission Park has been on fire this year and I’m not mad about it. When Madison and I were setting up their engagement photos, she really wanted Fall colors. With the cold temperatures, we weren’t sure the trees would still have leaves by the time of their session, but they managed to hang on long enough for our session!
It was a cold one for sure. With snow in the afternoon and temperatures in the upper 30s, Madison and Jon were troupers. They may have been cold, but you really can’t tell from these images. These two were seriously so fun. I barely had to give them any prompts and they would immediately begin cracking up.
Thank you so much for braving the cold and having a super fun session at Shawnee Mission Park! Here’s your preview!
Side note, I’m officially obsessed with champagne popping so if everyone can bring a bottle to their session, that would be great.
Hair and Makeup: White Carpet Bride
– Hear from the couple –
How did he propose?
Jon proposed to me in front of the Arch in St. Louis with my whole family watching. We had a family day planned together already and were set to wrap up the day with graduation photos for my brother and cousin. Jon was super smart in making me plan the whole day so I was distracted and not focused on what he was plotting. I planned family photos and a roof top dinner over looking downtown STL and the Arch. We made it through the whole day without me noticing a thing! Everyone took their turns taking pictures and framing everything up perfectly. So when it was our turn to take photos, everyone had the best angle and picture! Right in the middle of taking photos, Jon got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife! We luckily have some amazing photos and a video of the moment. Such a special moment and definitely not one I will forget!
Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?
What’s not to love about Jon… He always makes me feel so safe and loved, no matter what. His hugs are one of my all time favorite things! He has such a great sense of humor and is the hardest worker I know.
Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?
The thing I love the most about Maddie is that she is my absolute best friend. I love spending time with her and having her by my side throughout all the adventures in life.
What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?
The best part about wedding planning so far has been finding our perfect venue and being able to imagine all of our family and friends there to help us celebrate. It’s so fun to watch all of the pieces come together!
What are you looking forward to most about your big day?
Maddie: I am definitely most looking forward to my first look with Jon! I just picked out my wedding dress and I cannot wait for him to see it. I am so excited to just have an intimate moment with him before we see each other in the chapel.
Jonathan: I cant wait to see Maddie walk down the aisle. I am 100% going to cry like a baby. I am also super excited to have so many people together in one place to celebrate with. This will end up being one great big party for everyone!
