Could these two get any cuter?? Trick question. Obviously no. Sabrina, Caleb and I had such an amazing Shawnee Mission Park engagement session on Sunday. It was crazy windy, like 30 mph winds windy, but with strategic posing, we made it work! It could have been a lot worse! Thankfully it was still in the 60s, but we really could have done without that wind!

Despite it still being winter (technically) and the unpleasant wind, you can’t tell by looking at these two! They brought so much warmth, laughter, and love to their session. Plus, they wore matching bracelets to the session and Sabrina’s Chiefs earrings are to die for! Ahh I can barely take it!

Sabrina and Caleb are the sweetest couple. It’s so obvious the way they love each other, from the way Caleb kept Sabrina warm in the wind to the glances and laughter throughout our session. I just sat back and snapped away while these two looked amazing.

When I first met Sabrina and Caleb over coffee, I could tell they were the perfect couple for me. They were both laid back and go with the flow. Above all, they were so ready to plan the most perfect day. With the help of Caleb’s mom (ironically also named Sabrina), they are making their day a reality. It’s so fun to see his family get involved with the planning! I’m used to interacting with the mother of the bride, but the mother of the groom tends to stay out of the way. Caleb’s an only child, so she is doing everything she can to be involved. She’s even willing to meet me early on the day of to make sure all the details are laid out when I arrive at the venue. Thank you Sabrina for helping so much!

Sabrina, the bride, is pretty great as well. I talked to her several times leading up to our engagement session and every interaction was so warm and exciting! Her excitement and attitude have made them amazing to work with!

Since I gushed over the two ladies in his life, I should probably also mention Caleb. We had our consultation on a Sunday in December right before a Chiefs game. He showed up sporting his Chiefs attire, but was still happy to discuss wedding planning. Thankfully, I was able to get them out of there in time to watch the game! Because of their mutual love for Chiefs, of course we had to take some pictures sporting Chiefs attire. In Caleb’s words, “They won the Super Bowl, so we had to get a few pictures!”

Thanks for a beautiful Shawnee Mission Park engagement session! I can’t wait for your May wedding at the Stanley in Lee’s Summit. Now here’s your full preview! 🙂

Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

He took me to Hawaii and proposed on the beach in a flower reef.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love how caring and sweet he is, and how fun he is to be around

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

She is kind and caring beautiful inside and out. She always by my side helping when things get difficult.

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

Cake tasting (obviously can relate)

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Finally seeing her in her dress and sharing the moment with our friends and family. (Funny story about her dress. Caleb has no idea what it looks like and Sabrina plans on keeping it that way. Several times during our timeline meeting, I had him cover his ears in order to not ruin the surprise.)

My favorite picture is the one with Sabrina on the bench with Caleb behind her. I’m really looking forward to getting to know Sabrina better.

A little bit about me:

  1. I describe my style as real and vibrant. I focus on bright colors and incredible sunsets. I will force you to break away from your reception during sunset for pictures. You won’t regret it!
  2. I’m a huge animal lover. I own three cats and volunteer whenever I can at an animal shelter. If you ask if you can bring a pet to your engagement session, you will become my new best friend.
  3. I’m a newlywed, so I understand the wedding planning struggle!
