Shawnee Mission Park Snow Engagement | Jordan + Jacob

When Jordan first booked, she mentioned they wanted engagement photos in the snow. Since this is the midwest, after all, we weren’t even sure we would get snow, but thankfully we were able to make last minute plans for them to have their Shawnee Mission Park snow engagement session.

It was about 11 degrees and windy, but these two were troupers and tolerated my crazy ideas. Yes, I did make them lay down in the snow and throw snow on each other. It was totally worth it, even if we only lasted about 20 minutes outside.

I’ll keep this post short and talk way more about this awesome couple after we do round two of their engagement shoot this Spring!

– Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

My birthday is October 11th but for my birthday we were actually in Chicago celebrating my brothers wedding. We decided to celebrate by going to Lewisburg Cider Mill the following weekend. I had never been before, but Jacob talked very highly about their apple cider and donuts.

We were at the Cider Mill and looking for our perfect pumpkins in the pumpkin patch and he told me he found his. When I turned around to see the pumpkin, Jacob was on one knee asking me to be his wife. It was perfect! We spent the rest of the day drinking cider, and eating donuts. Later in the day our families surprised us and celebrated our engagement.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love how Jacob can make me laugh literally everyday. He is also my rock. He is the calm and collected one in the relationship. He keeps me level headed with anything that comes our way. He also makes me want to be a better person.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

I love how spontaneous and outgoing Jordie is, she definitely pushes us to be more social as a couple. I love how I can spend all day every day with her and never come close to getting tired of it. I love just how caring and loving she is, she is always taking care of me and the pups!

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

Our favorite part of wedding planning is looking at all of our options and picking things that represent us well and then seeing everything come together. We love finding ways to incorporate both of our aesthetics.

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Jordan: I am looking forward to seeing everything come together and then seeing my future husband at the end of the aisle.

Jacob: I am looking forward to seeing how beautiful she will look walking down the aisle and taking in the moment as we start the rest of our lives together.
