Courtney and Tyler had been friends since high school, but it wasn’t until after college when they made it official. Then, a little over four years later, they tied the Knot with a beautiful ceremony at Courtney’s church and had an amazing reception at the Farms at Woodend Springs.

The day started out with snow. Yes, it was almost April and snowing. The forecast was calling for clear skies later in the day, so we kept holding out hope despite the constant shifting predictions.

Courtney began her day getting ready at her parent’s beautiful house in Shawnee followed by final touches at the Farms at Woodend Springs.

After an emotional first look, we boarded a trolly for Liberty Memorial. It was so cold and windy that this plan didn’t work too well, so we ended up finishing most of the formals at the church.

The night concluded with clear skies and an insane dance party at the venue. The dance floor was packed, and this is not a small dance floor by any means. It was so much fun watching all their friends and family get out there and have a blast. I do have to say though, my favorite part about the reception was the food. Amazing catering and incredible cupcakes! Soooo good!

Thank you so much Courtney and Tyler for allowing me to be part of your amazing day!

The vibe at the reception is rustic chic. We want it to feel laid-back but without being informal.

Share how (or why) you chose your wedding venue(s):

Courtney was baptized at Southminster and has been very involved in the church throughout her life. The venue is owned by Courtney’s family friends and Courtney and Tyler love the look of the venue and how it is one big room for everyone to be in together.

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?

Try and have fun through the process – do not let the details stress you out or bog you down. This is supposed to be a meaningful and fun day where you will celebrate your love with your family and friends.

Thanks for visiting!

A little bit about me:

  1. I describe my style as real and vibrant. I focus on bright colors and incredible sunsets. I will force you to break away from your reception during sunset for pictures. You won’t regret it!
  2. I’m a huge animal lover. I own three cats and volunteer whenever I can at an animal shelter. If you ask if you can bring a pet to your engagement session, you will become my new best friend.
  3. I’m a newlywed, so I understand the wedding planning struggle!
