I’m so excited to bring you this beautiful Gatsby on Oak Wedding Inspiration in Downtown Kansas City. The Gatsby on Oak is an absolutely gorgeous new venue and I am so excited to show you all the wonderful features of this location.
The shoot came to be when I was approached by Miranda with Lavender Ducky Designs. As a floral preservationist, she wanted to put together a shoot that would showcase her designs. She came to me with a blush inspired shoot, which I was all for. Even though blush is such a common wedding color, I get so excited when I’m able to really showcase the light and airy side of my style. As much as I love colorful weddings, there is something so romantic about blush decor.
After Miranda and I talked through the concept, we brought on Carrie with Luxe Design and Events to really put the inspiration into action. Carrie partnered with Elated KC to bring in some rentals. I am obsessed with the velvet chairs that were part of the head table!
Every part of this shoot was meticulously thought out even though the majority came together in about two weeks! Carrie created the most beautiful tables and recruited the best models, who happen to be her step-son and his girlfriend. As awkward as it may sound to love on your girlfriend in front of your mom, these two were troopers and were so comfortable being lovey in front of my camera.
My favorite part of the shoot had to be playing outside the Gatsby on Oak. While most styled shoots are about the details, I’m glad we had a few minutes to play with the models and the incredible veil. The Gatsby on Oak actually has a wonderful outdoor ceremony space across the street. It’s rare for a downtown venue to be surrounded by so much greenery!
Thank you for including me in this gorgeous passion project at the Gatsby on Oak. Vendors, more to come shortly!
