It's December, but my wedding season is still going strong. Makenzie and Rob had such a fun day at The Guild KC Wedding venue on Saturday.

In a rare turn of events, my team actually had two weddings on this day. Kyle was working a video-only wedding while I was working photo-only with these two.
Makenzie and Rob are seriously such a fun couple! They were a referral from the previous couple, so I knew they would be a good time and their day definitely didn't disappoint. Despite the cold, their wedding party was willing to venture outside to take some awesome portraits at the Plaza, Crown Center, Union Station, and Liberty Memorial. I love when I'm able to explore all the best places in Kansas City with a cute couple.

This was my first time shooting a real wedding at The Guild KC and I'm in love. I'm not booked at "moody" venues too often because my style is much lighter, but here's a little-known fact. I LOVE THESE DARK AND MOODY VENUES! I feel like I perform best when there is little natural light to work with, so it's such a treat when I have a chance to really show off my flash knowledge.

Note to future couples, you don't necessarily need to choose a photographer based on your venue. If you love the moody look, but also love light and airy photography, certain photographers (aka me) might jump at the chance to work with you. Make sure you do ask if the photographer is comfortable with certain lighting situations first, but definitely don't decide against a photographer just because you feel like their style won't work in the space.

Thank you Makenzie and Rob for allowing me to photograph your gorgeous The Guild KC wedding! Here's your full preview!
