The Haven Event Space wedding venue is my favorite new venue in Kansas City, so I was super excited when I was booked by Ali and Brett for one of their first weddings!
Funny story. The owner, Blake, posted on a vendor group earlier this year that he was building a venue and looking for input from others in the wedding industry. I loved how he wanted to learn about the industry before jumping in, so I volunteered to join him on a call and give my opinions. Come to find out, he is actually friends with a few of my past clients, which made it easy for me to ask him to refer all his couples to me 😂 Ok, obviously I want to make sure we're a good fit first. However, I'm thrilled with my partnership and The Haven Event Space has literally everything you could ever want in a Kansas City wedding venue.
Anyway, when Ali first contacted me, I could tell their wedding was going to be insanely beautiful and elegant. I could also tell that Ali and Brett were fun people and we would get along perfectly.
Ali is also one of the sweetest people I know. When I first walked in and introduced her to Kyle, she responded with "we love your wife." He responded with "I think she's ok." Yeah my clients are sweeter than that sarcastic husband of mine.
With weddings that take place at the end of November, you never know whether it'll be 80 degrees or snowing. Thankfully, Ali and Brett couldn't have gotten better weather for this time of year. It was 60 degrees and sunny. It may have been a little muddy and windy, but nothing that we couldn't handle.
Thank you so much Ali and Brett for allowing me to be part of your beautiful The Haven Event Space wedding. I'm so happy you two were able to have your dream day at the most perfect venue.
I can't wait to be back at The Haven Event Space wedding venue multiple times next year!
Side note, Ali asked me to include a couple "fridge portraits" in their preview. I had to ask her what she meant by fridge portraits since I had never heard the term. It means traditional looking at the camera and smiling photos. I never post pictures of people looking at the camera, but I'll make an exception for these two. 😀

What is your most valuable piece of advice you can share with future couples planning their wedding?
Don't sweat the small stuff, and just have fun. Also hiring amazing vendors helps.
What was your favorite part of the planning process?
Meeting the vendors, by a long shot. We already knew that we hired some amazing creatives in this process but it has been great to chat with them and just put my trust in them for the big day to go perfectly. Besides that, seeing the Haven Event Space get built from the ground up - I think it'll be an interesting story to tell our kids one day, and the place came out beautifully.
