The Plaza Winter Engagement | Kelsey + Macauley

Ok I lied when I said the last engagement session I posted was my last engagement session of the year. I typically take off the entire month of December, but when Kelsey reached out to me, I couldn’t say no. Kelsey and Macauley are technically already married and live in San Diego, but they’re planning a real wedding here in March. Since this is the last time they’ll be in town before the wedding, I’m so glad they chose to spend some of their time here with me!

The Plaza Winter Engagement Session

We met up on the Plaza last Sunday. Note to self: do not choose to go to the Plaza the last weekend before Christmas. It was crowded, but we were still able to find some quiet places away from the crowds.

Both Kelsey and Macauley are no stranger to modeling. Kelsey does tons of shoots and occasionally drags Macauley along, so posing was a breeze. I gave my usual cues and they executed the poses perfectly. These two are so perfect together. The way they interact is priceless and it also helps that they’re so natural in front of the camera!

Thanks so much for hanging out with me. I can’t wait to see you again in March! Here’s your full preview!

Hear from the couple –

How did he propose?

We were taking photos at Union Station with one of my friends when he came back from military leave. We went up stairs and they had setup a really pretty balcony of greenery, photos, and a hand painted sign over looking Union Station.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

I love that he is so stern headed. If he has his mind set on something, you’re going to have to try very hard to convince him otherwise.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

He said many nice things to write down, but this is the first time he said he likes my jokes, so I am going with that. My jokes and how supportive we are of each other.

What’s your favorite part about wedding planning?

I love coordinating events, so it’s fun to have something where it is 100% ours and can just run with a blank space

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

I am looking forward to hearing his vows and to have everyone we care about there supporting us.
