Timber Creek Event Center Wedding | Taylor + McKay

Wedding season is definitely in full swing! I feel like I’ve had a year and a half off, so I’m ready to be back and busier than ever starting with Taylor and McKay. These two had a beautiful Timber Creek Event Center Wedding on Saturday!

Leading up to the wedding day, there was nothing but rain in the forecast. As a wedding photographer, I care as much about rain as my couples do so of course I religiously check the forecast. The morning of the wedding, there were blue skies and no rain in view. I was shocked. Later on, I was talking to Taylor and mentioned how I had been checking the forecast multiple times per day and I’m sure she had been as well. She responded to me with, “I did a bit, but it is what it is.” I love that response! As much as all brides know they can’t change the forecast, it’s rare to just sit back and hope for the best.

My favorite moment of the day had to be watching Taylor with her dad, Tim. On the wedding morning, Taylor mentioned how she is really close with her dad and he is definitely going to cry today. While I was walking Tim to the location of the daddy/daughter first look, I asked how he was feeling. He said, “I’m all cried out,” but as soon as he saw his baby girl, the water works began.

Their relationship was a recurring theme throughout the entire day. At the end of the dollar dance, Tim decided to take the very last dance with Taylor. Before they could even begin dancing, they both broke out in tears. This was such a special moment for all of us to witness.

I know I’ve spent most of this post talking about Taylor and Tim, but I should probably mention McKay as well. Taylor and McKay have the sweetest relationship. They have known each other for forever and truly appreciate each other after all these years. I remember the first time I met Taylor. McKay wasn’t at the consult, so Taylor showed me a picture and said “he’s such a cutie.”

It was such a privilege to get to know these two over the last year. From our engagement session at Weston Bend State Park to the Timber Creek Event Center wedding day in St. Joe, I could see the love you two share and can’t wait to see what the future holds.
