Nicole and Tom had a gorgeous Vox Theatre Wedding on Saturday even though nothing actually went as planned leading up to the wedding.

When Nicole reached out to me in January, they were planning a church ceremony and ballroom reception with 300+ guests in attendance. Of course, COVID had other plans for their day. After their original plan had to be cancelled because of city limits for events, Nicole and Tom began scrambling to find an alternative. When we met up for their engagement session in May, they were still unsure of the plan but they knew they were getting married on June 20th whether they had 40 guests or 300.

The original plan B was to have a backyard wedding until they discovered the Vox Theatre. Thankfully the Vox allowed them to have the wedding of their dreams even though their guest count still had to be slashed. However, the Vox offered to live stream their day to still include all the guests who were unable to attend.

The week of their wedding, rain was in the forecast and we once again had to scramble for an alternative plan. The original plan was to have a first look, head to Liberty Memorial, and take all the gorgeous portraits with family and friends. With rain, this plan seemed unlikely, so we created an alternative timeline. This timeline wouldn’t have a first look and all the portraits would have to take place at the Vox. We waited until the very last minute to decide which timeline to follow, and Saturday morning, we woke up to blue skies. Three timelines later, Nicole and Tom were all set to have the perfect wedding day!

Despite the annoyances they had while planning, we couldn’t have had a better day. The weather was absolutely perfect and every part of the day worked in our favor!

Nicole and Tom are seriously the sweetest couple and their love was so obvious throughout the entire day. Immediately after the first look while Nicole was waiting for the first look with her dad, Tom walked back inside the venue where he saw Rosemary, Nicole’s mom. He said to her, “wow, your daughter is so incredible.” This moment stuck out to me because you could see how much Tom cared about Nicole along with her entire family. This was truly a moment where two families became one.

Throughout the entire day, I was watching how Nicole and Tom interacted. Every look they gave each other was filled with so much love, so I had to just sit back and take it all in. During portraits and through open dance, Tom couldn’t stop wrapping his arms around Nicole and kept showing her how much he cared. The random glances, tears, and smiles really said it all. The entire day was a heart warming experience for me.

Just a quick side note, my first wedding ever happened at the Vox Theatre, so it was a privilege to be back 6 years later and really see how my style has evolved. It’ll be fun to do some comparisons later on!
