Wells Overlook Park Engagement | Bailey + Karl

Let me tell you about the most fun engagement session ever. Bailey, Karl, and I met up at Wells Overlook Park in Lawrence. This park is a hidden gem and I'm so glad I had clients a few years ago who introduced me to it. There is so much greenery around and we even saw a bit of fall colors.

Bailey and Karl have a picture perfect relationship. They're so comfortable laughing together and having a blast. I love evoking real emotions in my clients, but very rarely do I laugh as hard as they are. Kat and Bailey made me laugh so hard that half of the pictures are sideways. Oh well. I took about 1000 images (which is crazy for an engagement session) and they'll be delivered a little over 200. I never deliver this much, but I couldn't help but save all the awkward poses and hilarious moments. My job was so easy during this session because I relaxed while they made each other laugh like crazy.

I've been feeling a bit burnt out with all the weddings and sessions this month, but this engagement session reinvigorated me.

Thank you so much Bailey and Karl for making me laugh so hard. I seriously cannot wait for your wedding in May!

How did he propose?

Karl had our friends take me (Bailey) to all the places we had our "firsts" (first date, kiss, dance, etc) and at each place I got a rose and a love letter. Then my friends did my hair and nails then blindfolded me and took me to the place we first met; on McCain stage on K-State Campus. He had our song (Amazed) playing over the sound system. He then professed his love and proposed. I said yes. The lights went up and our family was in the audience.

Question for the bride: what do you love most about him?

He gives the best hugs in the entire world. He makes me feel safe no matter the situation while empowering me to chase my dreams. He reminds me to laugh, breathe, and be thankful for something everyday. We couldn't be more opposite but that is what makes him so perfect.

Question for the groom: what do you love most about her?

I love the way she feels so comfortable around me. She also has an amazing sense of humor and is remarkably stunning. She takes my breath away every time I see her and she lights up any room she goes into.

What's your favorite part of wedding planning?

I love list making and even more I love checking things off of lists. So having a list of things that are actually fun to do and then getting to cross them off the list is great!

What are you looking forward to most about your big day?

Getting to officially start the rest of forever together. Even if every detail isn't exactly how I pictured it or the wheels fall off the bus completely at the end of the day I get to be married to my best friend.
